Become a Member
The Tiny House Community Bristol working group has emerged from a shared interest group on Facebook. We still use this Facebook group to share links with each other and to communicate with our wider membership. Anyone can join the Facebook group and see what we are doing.
We have a group of active members who form the working group and work voluntarily. They are committed to our Vision, Mission & Aims, participate in our consent decision making processes and contribute time and effort to the progression of our mission.
We require any future residents to be members. Please read through our Newcomer Pathway and Policy - this outlines the journey from newcomer to resident and describes the different levels of involvement people can have.
Here is an FAQ document that answers any common queries you might have about THCB, our houses and becoming a member.
We also very much welcome cheering-on supporters who just love what we do, want to bolster our membership, have a say at our AGM, and keep up to date with what's going on, neither looking to be a volunteer nor a future resident.
If you would like to become a member in any capacity, please
-
make a £1 donation as a mandatory membership fee (instructions are on the application form)
-
fill in our Membership Application Form
-
read the newcomer pathway linked above
-
look out for further communication from us that will guide your involvement
If you have any questions, please do get in touch, join our newsletter, follow us on Facebook & Twitter or check for updates here on the site - let us know what you think about our plans and ideas and feel free to contribute your own.
Support our work
We are currently looking into sources of grant funding to further our project and bring us closer to making our dream a reality. In the meantime we cover costs by asking our members to pay a voluntary subscription fee towards expenses.
We try to keep our costs minimal and essential. We use consent decision making using Sociocracy to decide how we spend any incoming funds and our treasurer publishes completely transparent quarterly accounts.
If you feel aligned with our vision/mission/aims and have the capacity to support us financially, please consider making a direct donation to help make our work sustainable and contribute to a community-led movement for social and environmental regeneration.
Partnerships & Collaborations
We cannot achieve anything on our own - and we wouldn't choose to even if we could! There are so many brilliant organisations, bodies, companies and people who we are keen to work with.
Check out our list of links to see who inspires us, look at our calendar to see whose events we are going to, check our blog for updates on who we are meeting and dealing with and contact us if you want to be involved with what we are doing!
